If you
are Immigrant and new to London the most important thing to do
is to find yourself somewhere safe to sleep. There are advice
centres and agencies where you can drop in or call and find out
more information about emergency accommodation, hostels,
benefits, employment and more. Below is a list of advice centres
for young people.The staff are understanding and there to help.
You will also be able to meet other young people.

are day centres where you can go in thedaytime to get help and
advice and attend activities.
Day Centres often have services such us cheap or free food.

If the
advice centres arent open or you just want to go straight to an
emergency hostel you could try one of those listed below. Some
of the hostels in the main Accommdation section also take young
people but there will be older people there too.
If you are in crisis and the services are closed, then phone
Shelter (freephone 0808 800 4444). go to a police station (or
dial 999 if you feel threatened). or contact your local
authority out of hours number (see section on HPUs). If you are
under 16, you are seen as vulnerable under the childrens Act and
you may be able to get a place in an emergency refuge while your
situation is assessed.
